It has been 25 years since the British Virgin Islands (BVI”)
started providing corporate vehicles and services to the world. As these
companies have aged with their shareholders, the important and often overlooked
issue of how shares in a BVI company may be validly transferred upon the death
of a shareholder has become increasingly relevant. This seminar will
explain the law and processes regarding succession to shares in a BVI company,
explain the pitfalls that may occur in the absence of pre-planning and address
the options available to shareholders of BVI companies.
